Even the best-trained photographer can’t always get every shot right, no matter how experienced he or she is. Maybe the sample was damaged during shipping—there was no time to get a replacement. Maybe your makeup artist didn’t perform as well this time.

If you’ve already got the perfect shot, it may still be possible to get it. But it requires a lot of patience and time. And you may never want to pick up a camera again after spending hours eliminating every wrinkle or speck of dust.

There are a few different types of photo retouching:

1) Photo correction is used to fix blemishes and minor defects in an image.
2) Photo enhancement is used to improve facial features such as skin tone, posture, and expression.
3) Photo manipulation is used to alter a person’s appearance or transform them into something else. This type of photo retouching is often used in photobooks, fashion photography, and entertainment.

When you want to make your photographs cleaner, more refined, or more beautiful, retouching is how you accomplish it. A photographer can use retouching to correct any flaws that she may not have recognised at the shoot or that she couldn’t see until she saw the pictures (or perhaps both). This can either highlight the natural beauty of the models and products or fix any issues that couldn’t be addressed at the photo shoot (or which the photographer did not notice). Both pros and amateurs use retouching to capture the ideal photograph.
